The POETICS project participated in ECOC 2024, which was held in Frankfurt, from 22-26 September 2024.

More specifically, Efstathios Andrianopoulos from ICCS-PCRL, gave a talk titled “A Packaged 1.6 Tb/s O-band Optical Transceiver Based on the Hybrid Integration of SiGe Electronics and InP-Polymer Photonics.” This presentation was part of the “Novel Opportunities for Integrated Photonics & Transceivers” session, showcasing the result of a joint effort between the TERIPHIC and POETICS projects.

POETICS 16×16 Benes Optical switch module is under testing!

As part of the POETICS Project, this 16×16 Benes Optical switch module based on 3D PolyBoard, assembled by our partner PHIX and is currently under testing at PCRL lab by ICCS and Optagon.

9th POETICS Plenary meeting

The 9th POETICS plenary meeting took place remotely on December 4, 2023.
All partners met and discussed the final actions towards the completion of the project.

POETICS 1.6 Tb/s optical transceiver module assembled by PHIX

PHIX assembled another 1.6 Tb/s optical transceiver module as part of the POETICS Project, this time incorporating flexible RF electrical transmission lines developed by Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute HHI. These FlexLines offer superior impedance matching and shielding capabilities over traditional wire bonds and PHIX demonstrated a flip chip process for attaching them between photonic and electronic components in a single manufacturing step. The module is under testing.

As part of the POETICS Project PHIX assembled this 1.6 Tb/s optical transceiver module. It involves the co-integration of a photonic motherboard, directly modulated lasers and photodetectors with high-speed electronic integratedcircuits.

Poetics paper presentation at IMOC 2023

Annachiara Pagano (TIM), presented on Wednesday November 8, the paper “Hybrid Integration of Polymer PICs and InP Optoelectronics for WDM and SDM Terabit Intra-DC Optical Interconnects” at IMOC 2023.

The paper was supported by Horizon2020 projects POETICS and TERIPHIC.

POETICS @ IMOC 2023

We are glad to announce that POETICS project partner TIM, will participate at IMOC 2023 with a POETICS paper presentation by Annachiara Pagano. The paper is entitled “Hybrid Integration of Polymer PICs and InP Optoelectronics for WDM and SDM Terabit Intra-DC Optical Interconnects”. The presentation will take place on Wednesday November 8, 14:30 – 16:10 at Castelldefels.

8th POETICS Plenary meeting

The 8^th POETICS plenary project meeting took place yesterday (September 13^th, 2023) at LioniX and PHIX premises, in the University Twente campus, at Enschede, the Netherlands.

All partners participated to the event either physically or remotely and discussed the final steps/activities of the project towards the completion of POETICS Multi-Chip Modules and switches!
